Boston, MA Day 2 Fun in the Sun

Another super busy day today, since it was technically my last full day for exploration.  I do have some time tomorrow and if weather permitting I plan on continuing the Freedom Trail and potentially visit the Skywalk Tower.  Here are some highlights:

Red Socks at Fenway.  I am not a baseball fan, but I did find Fenway park to be charming.  I loved the vintage feel that has been maintained despite several modern upgrades.  I would definitely come back to watch a game there.

Calories out = Calories in.  I discovered that although Boston has an extensive train system, it seems that walking is a more direct way to get around.  Therefore, I needed to make sure that I was eating enough to sustain my energy expenditure 🙂 Nothing better than a salty toffee donuts at Blackbird Doughnuts and classic ricotta cannoli at Mike’s Pastry… so so so yummy!

Discovering the Harbour. From the Harpoon Brewery to the New England Aquarium, walking along the harbour walks reminded me that Boston is actually a coastal town.  I was also surprised by how much construction in going on in the area.  Lots of new apartments and condos going up.

Walking the Freedom Trail.  Confession: I still haven’t been able to walk the whole thing, it was late in the day and my feet were killing me.  I did get to visit Quincy market which was super disappointing.  I was expecting more of a farmer’s market and not chain stores.  I actually think the Boston Public Market will be more aligned with my expectations, but it was closed today.
