7 Restaurants to try in Boston

There are so many amazing places to try in Boston, here are a few of my personal favourite restaurants from my trip this spring!

1. Cheap Eat

Viva Burrito (66 Staniford St)

Big appetite but a small wallet, than you cannot go wrong with Mexican food and specifically Viva Burrito. The restaurant has a festive atmosphere and lots of variety to cater to meat lovers and vegetarians alike.  They also have some yummy smoothies on their menu.

2. Craft Cocktails

The Hawthorne (500A Commonwealth Ave)

Slick, modern, and ultra trendy, The Hawthorne is the place for spending a late night trying their unique cocktails. The mixologists on site really transform the art of cocktail making into something else.

3. Seafood on the Go

Yankee Lobster (300 Northern Ave)

I feel I need to put a disclaimer on this recommendation, I had the lobster mac n cheese and it left a lot to be desired with mushy pasta. However, looking at the dishes of the other customers who had the lobster rolls and fried oyster, I feel pretty confident that this place has better food to offer than what I got to taste.

4. Hot Soup

Pho Pasteur (682 Washington St)

On a cold day, nothing is better than the super flavorful soups at Pho Pasteur. I love piling on the basil leaves and lemon juice for a refreshing kick.

5. Cheep Beer and Wings

Paddy O’s (33 Union St)

0.25$ for chicken wings? Yes, please! I saw the sign outside Paddy O’s and my tired feet and empty stomach had me go in and munch on a few wings. They were actually pretty good considering the low price tag and when you add in a locally crafted beer, it’s a real winner in my books for some downtime in the late afternoon.

6. Comfort Food

Massimo Restaurant (19 Centre St)

Walking into the restaurant I immediately felt like I was at my Nonna’s house. The smell in the air was of fresh pasta and marinara sauce. Although the place was packed, I was surprised at how quick the service went and the plates are HUGE. I mean really big, like my chicken parmigiana was the size of my head. While pasta is an obvious choice on their menu, I would recommend their seafood preparations. It looked just amazing.

7. Locally roasted coffee

Jaho Coffee and Tea

I love the concept at Jaho that features locally roasted coffee alongside beer and cocktails.  It also has an awesome laid back vibe that is perfect for chilling with friends or alone.
