Hey all!

No idea how successful this blog will be, but I thought I would give it a try. I have some good and bad news to report even before this trip gets going. The good news is that I am just about completely packed! Yup, I am NOT going to be scrambling on Dec 31, which is a real shock for those who know me 😉 Also, my backpack is half empty, I am pretty convinced it would fit as a carry on! Of course all that free space is going to be filled with souvenirs upon my return… Speaking of my return, I have a very disappointing announcement, I have been forced to cancel my trip to Dubai 🙁 Despite my best attempts to get a visa on time, things just have not worked themselves out the way I had hoped. This means that I will be flying back directly from India at the end of January. Maybe I will tack it on to my Greece trip this summer?!?!

Some other interesting facts to share pre-departure… I got some information regarding the program I am doing at Sangam (one of the four world centers for Girl Guides and Scouts). There will be approx 20 participants from Canada, UK, Australia, Denmark, Sweden, US and Egypt. Should make for an exciting international mix! There is also optional Yoga being offered at 7AM every morning, you can start a betting pool on how many I am actually going to attend 🙂 Overall, the activities look amazing and will likely be the best part of the trip. The second half is a GAP Adventure Tour from Delhi to the beaches of Goa. Definitely a change of pace, but from what I have heard and seen from my cousin (who happens to be in India as I write), a great experience nonetheless.

I will definitely try to write as often as I can, but no guarantees. Also, I am paranoid about getting the memory of my camera ruined, so there will likely not be any colorful pictures to accompany my writing… Sorry! I promise to post them up when I get back.
