COWS ice cream (150 Queen Street) – While strolling through Charlottetown make sure to drop into this iconic ice cream shop and pick up some yummy ice cream and fun COW accessories.  My favourite flavour is Coffee Toffee Crunch.

Raspberry  Cordial – This bubbly drink can only be found in Cavendish, home of Anne of Green Gables. Its sweet fruit flavor may not please everyone, but definitely give it a try. For those who are of drinking age, you can add a shot (or two) of vodka and a squeeze of lime juice.

Stuffed Cavendish baked potato – PEI is known for its potato harvest, especially in Cavendish. You can taste potatoes as fries or chips, but my preference is as a loaded baked potato. Definitely check out the Red Island Baked Potato restaurant (397 Capital Drive, Cavendish) in Avonlea Village for a treat. They allow you to custom build your own loaded potato with everything from pulled pork to poutine.

Lobster Roll – it’s a classic anytime you are on the East coast. My preferred location is Richards’s Fresh Seafood (9 Wharf Rd, Stanhope) in PEI National Park. It can get very busy in the summer (be warned there will be some line-ups) but the food is fresh and super tasty. You can also pick up some freshly gathered seafood and fish if you want to cook your own meal.

IMG_9157v2Malpeque Oysters – These world renowned oysters are plump and juicy and locally sourced in PEI, so don’t miss out.  Raw oysters are not for everyone, but if you ever even considered giving raw oysters a try this would be the place to do it (same thing for clams). You can go directly to the source by heading to the Malpeque Oyster Barn located on King street in Malpeque for a delicious meal.
