After a long week of driving along the California coast, I wanted to spend my final nights in a comfortable and clean hotel in San Francisco. The chic Axiom hotel (28 Cyril Magnin St) proved to be the perfect boutique hotel experience to end the trip. The moment I stepped into the hotel and walked down the long hall to the reception area, I knew I had made the right choice. The reception could also be mistaken for a library with its tall shelves piled with books and plush sofas inviting you to sit cozy up with your favourite stories.
The staff at the reception were welcoming and made checking in a breeze. It was already later in the evening when I arrived, so I got to check into my room right away.
The Hotel Room
The room was impeccably clean and quite spacious. There was a small desk area and a closet to hang my clothes. The highlight for me was undoubtedly the bathroom. I enjoyed the large, ceramic shower with rainfall shower head. There were plenty of towels, spa-quality toiletries, and a full size hair dryer. I was worried about the noise level because the hotel is located on a busy street (facing the streetcars), but it was not an issue. I slept super well, and was sad that I did had not planned to stay longer at the Axiom Hotel.
Amenities
On the main floor of the Axiom hotel, there is a small coffee/bar area that serves food throughout the day. A great place to quickly grab a bit, or lounge around with friends or colleagues. Other amenities included are wi-fi, coffee and tea served in the lounge in the mornings, and a fitness room.
Location
Finally, the location of the Axiom Hotel is perfect for visiting San Francisco. It is centrally located, just a few minutes walking distance to the Powell Street BART system, and there are lots of fun restaurants and bars nearby. I definitely recommend this hotel and I think it was great value for the money spent.
