Last day in Kuala Lumpur

It’s been quite the busy day! I was at the conference for the day where I presented my poster over lunch time. It went well and I met some researchers from Texas, Malaysia and Australia. The oral presentations were ok. I am continually frustrated by the ongoing attempts to find a magical solution to obesity. I think we need to start shifting away from thinking of obesity as a biological issue to a social one.

Yesterday, we ate at the imbi market. We were the only white folks so it was a bit intimidating but the food was awesome. Tonight we discovered yet another enormous mall and ate there. The roti was so good and flaky and I had roasted duck. Now it’s packing time because tomorrow we are flying out to Sandakan. The plan is to visit the orangutan sanctuary in the afternoon and then relax in the rainforest chalet in the evening.

Gosh Carla you are making us all jealous with your beautiful pictures and talk of exotic food, while we are stuck here in the cold snow! Can’t wait to hear about your time with the orangutans….that will be tons of fun:):)
