I was looking for a campground that was going to provide awesome views of the Fjord. I settled on the Village Vacances Petit-Saguenay since they have rustic campgrounds overlooking the Fjord at a very reasonable cost. It makes for the most amazing views and you feel tucked away in nature. I was definitely not disappointed by the location, I only wished we were closer to the water. In addition to rustic camp sites, there are also cabins for rent for those who don’t want to worry about tents and outdoor campfire cooking.
Aside from the great camp sites, the main draw of Village Vacance Petit-Saguenay is the animation. When I was there it was still the off-season so there was not much happening, but of you book your accommodations during July-August you can take full advantage of their programs. Village Vacance provides animation for children of all ages during the day, thereby freeing up parents for some time off. They also provide group activities for adults who want to experience local attractions in the Saguenay area. If you rather be on your own, on-site there is a beach, bike and hiking trails in the woods, volleyball terrain, pool and a cafe-restaurant. There is also nightly campfires and nightly animation for the whole family.
