Bears, Monkeys, and an infinity pool

What am I doing right now… Lying on a sun lounger by the pool. Perfection! I slept pretty well last night, it was like camping with all the chirping from birds and bugs. This morning it was insanely hot to walk to the rainforest discovery center. Again I was expecting a deep forest trek, but the canopy suspension bridge could have been done in flip flops and skirt. Better this way I guess. It was super peaceful and the trees are amazing. So tall! After walking there, it was the sun bear sanctuary. The site just opened about 2 months ago and they have the worlds smallest bear species. So freakin cute! These little black bears were just adorable foraging in the forest. I think the proboscis monkeys got jealous of the attention because they suddenly came swinging from trees to where the visitors were. It was hilarious and got some very up close shots. From Sepilok the next destination was Sandakan, AKA the place te government of Canada advises against travel unless absolutely essential due to security concerns. I can say I can partly see why, it’s quite run down despite recent attempts to modernize. The good news is that such conditions results in a four star Sheraton hotel offering rooms for a third of the price anywhere else. Plus, Malaysia has the cheapest macdonald prices, a McChicken trio costs 5.85…. Ringgits. That equals about 2$ Canadian. Guess where I will be eating lol. So overall it will be a relaxing 2 days of pool and laundry before moving on to KK.
