Last night i ate at Balin, the only place in Sandakan that could be described as trendy. Its a rooftop restaurant/lounge with good food and atmosphere. It’s a little sketchy to get there but definitely worth it. I had a lovely watermelon martini. Last night I had trouble sleeping so I watched sumo wrestling lol Nothing too exciting today. I tried to go souvenir shopping but the options were pretty dismal: t-shirts or keychains. The afternoon was swimming in the pool and relaxing. Tonight’s dinner was at a restaurant by the water. I had chicken, veggies, rice, steamed fish and crab. The funniest was the crab that was battered, fried, chopped into pieces and covered with sticky sauce. What a mess it was to try and eat it. My hands were covered in sauce, I think locals were very amused. Luckily we didn’t pay much for the dish (3$). Now packing up my bag for my 45min flight tomorrow from Sandakan to KK. Just over a week left!
