Toyo Japanese Steakhouse Grill Experience

This past week-end I headed to Toyo Japanese Steakhouse for a friend’s birthday. I had already experienced teppenyaki, but never in Montreal so I was excited to see if I could find a good place locally. As a group of 10, we were seated all together at our own table, however you don’t need to be a large group to book. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. As far as the actual show and grilling experience, the chef was quite entertaining and personable. We all adored the fire trick, so he made sure to give us one good heat!

I thought the food was delicious and seemed to suit everyone’s taste at my table. I opted for the chicken teriyaki and samurai beef combo. The teriyaki was delicious with a glaze to the chicken. The beef was less flavorful but came with a ginger side sauce that I loved. There was also a ton of veggie accompanying the meal which was really nice.

As far as the drinks are concerned, I enjoyed a Japanese beer. There are also so fruity inventive cocktails if beer and sake are not for you.

The price for dinner ranged between 25-40$ and included soup, salad, shrimp starter, lots of veggies, your choice of meat, green tea and ice cream/sherbet. I think the price is quite good considering how much food you get and its fun to see the chef prepare the meal in front of you!
