When planning a visit to Quebec City, the Parc de la Chute-Montmorency makes for the perfect day trip. Located 15 minutes away from Quebec, the park features impressive falls measuring 83 metre in height.
Getting to the top of the Chute-Montmorency
The easiest way to get to the top of the Chute-Montmorency is to take the stairs. But be warned, there a lot of stairs!
It’s definitely a workout but the view when you reach the top is absolutely worth it. Walking across the suspension bridge you get to see the rushing water under your feet as it makes it’s way down.
If taking the stairs is not an option, than there is cable car that will bring you to the top without having to break a sweat. The cost of the cable car is 14.57$ round trip for an adult.

Activities in the Park
Aside from taking in the impressive falls, the park offers a number of activities and unique vantage points to view the falls. From the top of the falls you have the option to do a double zip lining. I did not do this activity but I can imagine the view must be terrific as you zoom down.
There is also a Via Ferrata that adult and children (8 years and older) can experience. All of these activities are subject to additional fees.
Relax on the terasse of Manoir Montmorency
Form the top of the falls the Manoir Montmorency is within a 10 minute walking distance. It is a beautiful old white Victorian building that is home to a lovely restaurant with an outdoor terrace. The restaurant is known for it’s Sunday brunch where the buffet-style service features a collection of local products. While the restaurant is only open during the summer months, I think that’s the best time to enjoy the lush gardens of colourful flowers on the property. They also keep beehives which I thought was pretty neat to see.
